On the afternoon of March 7, Wang Jian, Vice President of Jimei University (JMU), met with a delegation from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) led by Vice Chancellor and Datuk Muhammad Bin Hussin. Heads of International Cooperation and Exchange Department and Overseas Education College also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Wang traced the history of friendly exchanges between Jimei University and National University of Malaysia, and expressed his expectation of the joint educational programs. He stressed the importance of this meeting in the development of both institutes’ education and the cultivation of high-quality talents, and hoped for in-depth collaboration. After presenting the international cooperation strategy of National University of Malaysia, Muhammad Bin Hussin said that his university has been committed to seeking opportunities for partnership with Chinese institutes. He also looked forward to expanding cooperation with JMU, for example setting up overseas teaching centers and other innovative cooperation models so as to achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages.

Since the National University of Malaysia is a newly added partner institute under the strategic cooperation program of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE)/JMU, to ensure the high-quality development of the joint educational program, both sides engaged in more discussions and confirmation about the cooperation mode, cultivation program and mutual recognition of credits, and exchanges of their views on cooperation scope and level.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the campus and student apartment, commending highly JMU’s educational resources and academic atmosphere.
