On December 31, the “Understanding China, Meeting Fujian—American Youth Martial Arts Exchange Tour” (Xiamen stop) was held at Jimei University. Thirteen young martial arts enthusiasts set foot in Xiamen for a cultural exchange, engaging in skill-sharing and discussions on martial arts. They came from UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, and NYU, including champions from the World Tai Chi Championships, World Traditional Martial Arts Championships, Pan American Wushu Championships, and U.S. National Martial Arts Championships.
During the event, they exchanged techniques with Jimei University’s faculty and students in a friendly atmosphere, exploring the essence of Chinese martial arts. Through hands-on experience, they gained deeper insight into its rich heritage and the longstanding people-to-people ties between China and the U.S.
A Jimei University representative stated that the event aimed to strengthen grassroots exchanges and foster mutual understanding and friendship between young people from both nations.
